Coronavirus: Day Boat Hire Procedures

Following Boris Johnson's statement on 23rd June  we are able to open for day boat hire from Saturday 4th July (weekends only). We hope to be able to rent hourly boats and to run the Ferry in August (weekdays included).

To comply with Covid 19 regulations:


  • Boats are sanitised between hires

  • Hand gel is available in the boatyard

  • We can only hire to Family / household groups

  • Names of all passengers must be recorded*

  • The Skipper for the day must sign a declaration confirming the above

  • Proof of ID is required

  • Social distancing must be observed

Prices and information:


Day boats can accommodate 6 adults and 2 children.

Periods of hire are as follows:


Boats initially only available at weekends.


10 am to 6pm – £160 plus £100 loss or damage refundable deposit.


10 am to 1pm – £90 plus £100 loss or damage refundable deposit.


2pm to 5pm – £90 plus £100 loss or damage refundable deposit.


We only accept cash as we do not have card facilities.


Buoyancy aids are available for children.


You can navigate downstream as far as Teddington Lock or upstream as far as Penton Hook Lock.


Currently the locks are not manned by keepers, so you have to operate them yourself. 


Instruction will be given but do allow plenty of time for passing through locks.

* Your details will be deleted securely after 21 days in line with government guidelines.
